Data Scientist role within the Provost’s Office supporting analytics and data-informed decisions for student success and institutional planning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct projects within the Provost’s Office to support data-informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to produce deliverables related to student success, enrollment trends, rankings, and program evaluations.
• Design, conduct, and interpret statistical analyses using statistical software and data science techniques.
• Apply statistical methods including regression modeling, machine learning, data mining, and clustering using tools such as SAS, R, SPSS, and Python.
• Support multiple initiatives concurrently while meeting deliverable timelines.

Requirements

• Experience conducting and interpreting statistical analyses using SAS, R, SPSS, and/or Python, including regression modeling, machine learning, data mining, and clustering.
• Team-based experience working with others in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capacity to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in query writing (e.g., SQL).
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
• Master’s Degree in Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a related field.
• Familiarity with workflow automation tools such as Alteryx, and/or prior experience in higher education (plus).
