Job summary

Superhuman is seeking a data scientist to be embedded in the Mail product team, shaping metrics, experiments, and measurement strategies to drive activation, engagement, and retention. You will work closely with Data Engineering, Finance, RevOps, and UX Market Research to move the metrics that matter.

You will design experiments across onboarding, activation, and long-term usage, and translate business questions into rigorous measurement plans.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data science experience with measurable impact.
• Expertise in experimentation and causal inference; fluent in A/B testing and related methods.
• Fluent in Python and SQL with strong data exploration and manipulation skills.
• Strong applied statistics and machine learning skills for product decisions.
• Translate ambiguous business questions into experimental designs and metrics.
• Influence cross-functional partners and communicate findings clearly.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be the embedded data science partner for the Mail core product team — shaping feature strategy, prioritization, and roadmap decisions with evidence.
• Define and own the metrics that matter for Mail: activation milestones, engagement depth, retention curves, and leading indicators of feature impact.
• Design and run experiments across the Mail product lifecycle and build measurement frameworks to separate signal from noise.
• Shape the measurement strategy for Mail's AI features by defining quality frameworks and behavioral metrics.
• Figure out what makes Mail sticky and identify activation sequences for power users.
• Partner with product-led and sales-led growth to quantify levers that drive expansions.
• Use data to craft onboarding flows, feature discovery, and engagement nudges.
• Communicate findings to PMs, designers, engineers, and executives; raise the bar on decision-making with data.
