Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks an experienced Data Scientist to support engineering quality data infrastructure and the QPI department. You will collaborate with software developers, database architects, data analysts, and fellow data scientists to advance strategic data initiatives and ensure reliable data delivery across projects.

This role may be based at Knolls or Bettis, combining hands-on data engineering and governance with leadership to guide data solutions across engineering quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with extensive relevant experience.
• Master’s or Doctorate holders should have substantial related-experience as specified.
• Experience with data governance and data pipelines is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate across technical disciplines and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain large datasets and develop data pipelines for critical data systems.
• Lead and manage QPI data governance policies and tools; provide technical support for data engineering applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to identify data needs and deliver consistent solutions across projects.
• Provide mentoring and training to colleagues within your area of responsibility.
• Develop experimental or analytical methods and define specifications for data analyses.
• Promote sound data practices to meet project and department needs.
