Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks an experienced data scientist to support the Engineering Quality data infrastructure and department data needs. You will collaborate with software developers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists across QPI and the lab.

Responsibilities include maintaining large datasets, building data pipelines, leading data governance, and mentoring colleagues. The role may be based at Knolls or Bettis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or science field with 9+ years of relevant experience; or Master's with 7+ years; or Doctorate with 3+ years.
• Experience with data governance, data infrastructure, and collaboration with software and data teams.
• Familiarity with Power Platform and SharePoint is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain large datasets and implement data pipelines feeding critical data systems.
• Lead and manage QPI data governance policy and tools.
• Provide technical and programmatic leadership and mentor other staff.
• Develop experimental or analytical methods and define specifications for data analyses.
