Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks an experienced Data Scientist to join Engineering Quality. You will collaborate with software engineers, database architects, data analysts, and scientists to support data infrastructure and analytics across QPI and NNL projects.

Responsibilities include building data pipelines, leading governance initiatives, providing technical leadership, and mentoring staff. US citizenship and security screening required; role may be at Knolls or Bettis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or science field plus 9+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s with 7+; or Doctorate with 3+.
• Strong data governance, data pipelines, and analytics能力.
• Experience collaborating with software, data, and analytics teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain large datasets and implement new data pipelines for critical systems.
• Lead and manage QPI data governance policy and tools.
• Provide technical support and oversight for data engineering applications.
• Provide technical and programmatic leadership, including mentoring staff.
• Develop experimental or analytical methods and define specs for data analyses.
