Job summary

Suzano is looking for a Data Scientist to drive data-informed decision-making across our operations. This role analyzes complex datasets, develops predictive models, identifies trends, and delivers actionable insights to support operational excellence and sustainability initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in analytics, strong Python/R/SQL skills, and experience with Power BI or Tableau, with a passion for solving complex problems and collaborating across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics.
• 3+ years in a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, BI or related analytics role.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL.
• Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and predictive analytics.
• Strong knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
• Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large, structured, and unstructured datasets to identify trends and opportunities for business improvement.
• Develop, test, and deploy predictive and prescriptive analytics models to support operational and strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand challenges and translate them into data-driven solutions.
• Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Perform data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning modeling to improve business performance and decision-making.
• Partner with IT, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and other business functions to drive analytics projects.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance standards across analytics initiatives.
• Develop data pipelines and automate processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Monitor and evaluate model performance, making adjustments as needed to optimize outcomes.
• Stay current on emerging technologies, methodologies, and best practices in data science and analytics.
