Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in data-related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years in Data Scientist/Analyst/BI or related analytics role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar languages.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, ML techniques, and predictive analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI, Tableau or similar visualization tools.
  • Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
  • Ability to translate complex analytics into actionable business recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large, structured and unstructured data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Develop, test, and deploy predictive and prescriptive analytics models.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate challenges into data-driven solutions.
  • Design and maintain dashboards, reports and visualizations for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Partner with IT, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to drive analytics projects.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity and governance across analytics initiatives.
  • Develop data pipelines and automate processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Monitor model performance and adjust to optimize outcomes.
  • Stay current on emerging data science technologies and best practices.

About the Role: Suzano is looking for a Data Scientist to help drive data-informed decision‑making across our business operations. This role will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets, developing predictive models, identifying trends, and delivering actionable insights that support operational excellence, sustainability initiatives, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical expertise with business acumen and a passion for solving complex problems through data. We are searching for someone passionate about data science and advanced analytics, with aspirations to grow with Suzano's international footprint.

What You’re Going to Do:
  • Analyze large, structured, and unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Develop, test, and deploy predictive and prescriptive analytics models to support operational and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand challenges and translate them into data‑driven solutions.
  • Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate insights effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Perform data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning modeling to improve business performance and decision‑making.
  • Partner with IT, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and other business functions to drive analytics projects.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance standards are maintained across analytics initiatives.
  • Develop data pipelines and automate processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Monitor and evaluate model performance, making adjustments as needed to optimize outcomes.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, methodologies, and best practices in data science and analytics.
What We Expect from You:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence, or related analytics role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or other data analysis and programming languages.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and predictive analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, industrial operations, supply chain, or sustainability analytics.
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
  • Familiarity with data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with AI, generative AI, or advanced analytics solutions.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
