Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate in Digital Finance Transformation to accelerate analytics in portfolio companies. You will combine Python/SQL expertise with finance know‑how to modernize data environments, automate processes, and build scalable analytics tools that drive cash and EBITDA improvements.

You will work directly with CFOs, Controllers, and FP&A leaders to design, implement, and operationalize solutions that improve transparency and performance across finance

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of professional experience; consulting or professional services preferred.
• Advanced Python programming with ML libraries (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric).
• Experience with ETL/orchestration tools (Dagster, Temporal, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Fivetran, Matillion).
• Demonstrated ability to develop lightweight finance applications using Streamlit or Retool.
• Solid understanding of finance and accounting concepts, including forecasting, working‑capital management, and three‑statement modeling.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; ability to translate between finance and technology teams.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operationalize digital finance solutions that modernize data environments and automate processes.
• Build analytics‑driven tools that create measurable business impact for private equity portfolio companies.
• Collaborate with CFOs, Controllers, and FP&A leaders to ensure transparent, scalable finance analytics.
• Translate between finance and technology teams to drive cross‑functional initiatives.
• Travel as required to client sites or project locations.
