Job summary

DataJobs in New York City’s Bike Share & Shared Mobility unit seeks a Data Scientist to support Citi Bike and other shared mobility services. You will analyze data, build dashboards, and translate insights to inform decisions through 2029.

You will develop predictive models, produce briefing materials, monitor data quality, and collaborate with Operations, Planning, and Policy. Proficiency with Power BI, Python, R, SQL, and Tableau is preferred, with NYC residency within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an appropriate field (physical, biological, environmental science or public health).
• Doctorate with specialization or master’s + 3 years of research experience; or equivalent education/experience.
• At least a master’s degree with two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis to inform bike share planning.
• Build predictive models and simulate pricing impacts on ridership and revenue.
• Produce reports and briefing materials from databases for bike share systems.
• Monitor vendor compliance with regulations, DOT policies, and contracts.
• Develop and maintain dashboards with Power BI and translate results into actionable insights.
• Collaborate with leadership across Operations, Planning and Policy to align analytics with priorities.
