Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Data Scientist to support government activities. You will apply statistics, data mining, and machine learning to human performance, behavioral health, and readiness data to produce actionable insights and forecasts for the POTFF enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline with coursework in statistics and data analysis.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and SQL for querying.
• Experience with statistical methods, ML, and data visualization.
• Experience producing visual analytics and reports for decision-makers (Power BI preferred).

Responsibilities

• Query, clean, transform, and prepare data from Government systems for analysis.
• Develop and validate predictive models and forecasts.
• Support NLP use cases and LLM workflows within approved tools.
• Develop visual analytics and dashboards using Power BI and integrate data products into low-code workflows.
• Support analyses and experiments to measure ROI of POTFF interventions.
• Automate recurring analyses and monthly/quarterly reports.
• Document data sources, transformations, and validation procedures.
• Communicate complex concepts to non-technical leadership.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to improve data input quality.
• Maintain data security and privacy controls (IL5, HIPAA) in all analytic work.
