Job summary

Handshake AI in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Data Scientist to analyze expert performance, task quality, and operational workflows. You will build metrics, dashboards, and self-serve analytics to guide product and operations decisions.

You will own SQL-driven analyses on large datasets, partner with product and operations teams, and translate questions into actionable insights, with a focus on data quality, throughput, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Data Science, Product Analytics, BI, or a related analytical role.
• Expert-level SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience defining metrics and using data to influence product or business decisions.
• Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Write advanced SQL to analyze large, complex datasets related to expert performance and workflows.
• Define, build, and maintain core metrics and dashboards for operational decisions.
• Partner with Product, Operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to answer high-impact questions.
• Conduct analyses that inform workflow design and task improvements.
• Build dashboards, reporting, and self-serve analytics for fast decisions.
• Identify data gaps and quality issues, then work with teams to resolve them.
