Job summary

Handshake Labs is building external AI products and research platforms for frontier models. You will join as a Member of Technical Staff to design and improve data systems, focusing on high-quality synthetic data, data anonymization, and privacy-preserving workflows.

You’ll collaborate with researchers, compliance, and customers to turn ambiguous data questions into durable pipelines and products. Early team members will influence technical direction and culture, with opportunities to build

Qualifications

• 2-10 years of recent, demonstrated experience in one or more of: synthetic/LLM-generated data, post-training and model-evaluation work, privacy engineering, or data anonymization/de-identification at scale.
• Hands-on individual contributor track record; not a team lead or manager.
• Strong Python skills and ability to write clean, scalable software for large datasets.
• Judgment for data quality, risk, and utility; forming hypotheses and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data systems for high-quality synthetic and sanitized data for frontier model training.
• Translate research and compliance needs into hypotheses and production-quality implementations.
• Build and improve data-processing pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and quality-control systems.
• Run fast, rigorous iteration loops and turn learnings into next system or product.
• Collaborate with researchers, domain experts, legal/compliance to ensure data utility and safety.
• Productize repeatable patterns into reusable software and platforms.
• Raise technical bar with design judgment, communication, and mentorship.
