Job summary

Nextdoor is seeking a Data Scientist on the Monetization Team to drive revenue growth by shaping ranking models, experiments, and measurement for ads delivery. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, ML, Sales & Finance to deliver data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted outputs in an AI-first environment, with a hybrid work model and opportunities across multiple offices. Strong SQL and Python skills are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Data Science experience, ideally in ads or monetization.
• Experience with Ads Marketplace and monetization strategies.
• Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Proficiency in Python and data-science toolkits (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn).
• Experience designing, running, and sharing analyses including experiments.
• Curiosity to extract meaningful product/business insights; interest in AI.
• Willingness to apply AI/ML approaches to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop algorithms and models to optimize Ads Marketplace performance.
• Experiment design: monitor early feature development and post-release follow-ups.
• Develop and share strategic insights through data analysis and experiments.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support product development.
• Participate in in-person Nextdoor events such as trainings and team-building.
• Build in-person relationships and contribute to Nextdoor’s culture.
