Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist for its National Security Solutions team. The role involves designing analytic solutions using ECL/HPCC, building data models, and applying advanced data analytics to support national security missions. On-site work with minimal travel, requiring active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

The candidate will work with Python, R, Pig, Java, C, and SQL across distributed computing platforms to deliver scalable analytics and validated results for critical programs.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with a Polygraph is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in relevant fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience using ECL within the HPCC Systems environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with data modeling and large-scale data analytics.
  • Experience with Python, R, Pig, Java, C, or SQL for large-scale data processing.
  • Experience developing and validating analytic methodologies in clustered computing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain analytic solutions using ECL and HPCC Systems to process and analyze large-scale datasets.
  • Develop, validate, and apply methodologies for analytic requirements in clustered computing environments.
  • Create and maintain data models supporting enterprise and mission analytics.

  • Design and optimize scalable data ingestion, transformation, and enrichment workflows across distributed platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders to translate analytic requirements into technical solutions.
  • Validate data quality, analytical methods, and outputs for accuracy and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain analytic solutions using ECL and HPCC Systems to process and analyze large-scale datasets.

Standard Qualifications:
Required:
  • Active TS/SCI with a Polygraph
  • Minimum of 10 years experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience using ECL within the HPCC Systems environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with data modeling and large-scale data analytics.
  • Experience using Python, R, Pig, Java, C, or SQL to perform large-scale parallel processing of data.
  • Experience developing, validating, and applying methodologies to support analytic requirements in clustered computing environments.
  • Experience working with distributed computing, high-volume datasets, and scalable data processing architectures.
Desired:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Basic Compensation:

$177,200 to $216,500 This range is for the VA area only The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
