You are highly proficient in building and analyzing analytical frameworks, statistical models, and experimentation methods to establish and communicate causal relationships.

You are a storyteller who uses complex data and insights to frame narratives to bring others along the journey.

Working knowledge of agile ceremonies, and you excel at collaboration, providing concrete guidance and constructive feedback to peer analysts and cross-functional partners across the business to help improve the work.

You are able to execute projects with great complexity and a longer time horizon than is typical on most product teams.

You can apply a sustained level of commitment and attention to your work, as well as thorough, thoughtful, and rigorous documentation to multi-week and often multi-month projects.

In this role you'll get to

Use a combination of data engineering, science, and analytics-based skills to build the business insights platform to detect and support the mitigation of potential fraud behavior across the Airbnb platform.

Perform data modeling of the various entities involved in trust creation and defense, including hosts, guests, agents, and others, using tools & frameworks for optimizing community end-to-end journey by minimizing undesired frictions while introducing proactive product defenses on our platform.

Define and evaluate key metrics in an unstructured problem space. Develop and communicate a robust understanding of what moves these metrics and why. Investigate challenging questions around the user experience to understand the voice of our users at scale.

Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, legal, design, and operations teams, as well as with other data science teams, to implement and measure models that drive product development.

Influence data-driven decisions across business verticals via business reviews, scorecards, self-serve portals, OKRs, and planning.

Influence experimentation & measurement strategies; conduct power analyses, define exit criteria, and use statistical models to improve inference. Your expertise in causal inference and passion for the subject matter will help address this unstructured space.

We are looking for people who have

Experience in business analytics with an emphasis on Trust & Safety product and operations scalability; developing business-facing metrics and solving future business decisions. Experience on a trust and safety team and/or working closely with policy, content moderation, or security teams.

Expert skills in SQL and proficiency in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R).

Experience with non-experimental causal inference methods, experimentation, and machine learning techniques, ideally in a multi-sided platform setting.

Experience in schema design and high-dimensional data modeling (ETL frameworks like Airflow).

Proven ability to create and drive product roadmaps for the business and execute against them seamlessly.

Ability to tailor solutions to business problems and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of varying technical levels.

Ability to work under ambiguity in a fast-growth, complex environment—acting with minimal planning and supervision, identifying issues both within and outside your scope, and proposing solutions.
