Launched in 2018, xCures provides a paradigm shift to improve patient outcomes via comprehensive, intelligent access to healthcare data on an AI-assisted platform. Delivered using a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, xCures enables healthcare organizations to quickly find and use clinical insights. We continue to enhance our platform to provide significant new capabilities for patient care.

About the role :

Reporting to the VP of Data Science, the Senior Data Scientist will work on mission-critical projects driven by xCure’s client needs and will support the development of data science for xCure’s complex health data processing, extraction, and analysis capabilities. We’re looking for an individual who values team-building, cooperation, and mentoring colleagues. You will collaborate across the organization for guidance on engineering, clinical, and business topics as needed. Projects include data extraction challenges using LLMs and other technologies, statistical analysis, data aggregation, and software development. You will author analysis software and lead the implementation of company policies around data science code repositories and coordination. These responsibilities are key for delivering large, sometimes complex, data products.

This position is fully remote, requiring excellent communication and coordination skills, with occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test data extraction and analysis software
• Plan, explain, and implement data projects for clients
• Improve data extraction and aggregation performance for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Lead exploratory data analysis to uncover insights for strategic decisions
• Provide technical leadership and participate in projects
• Maintain code repositories and promote good development practices
• Collaborate with managers to explore methods and implement solutions
• Coordinate remotely and create educational materials
• Contribute to scientific publications
• Mentor colleagues in data science
• Work with Engineering and other teams to enhance company efficiency

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• Master’s, Ph.D., or equivalent in CS, Software Engineering, Statistics, Biology, or related field
• At least 10 years of experience in data science, machine learning, data analysis, or software development
• Expertise in data science methods, including statistics, ML, ETL, and data aggregation
• Experience with LLMs, embeddings, and Python for data tools
• Proven experience with generative AI software development
• Experience working with complex health data and creating data exchange tools
• Proficiency with statistical tools (Python, R, etc.), TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn
• Experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and testing
• Skills in software development, including git, SQL, noSQL, APIs
• Experience writing tests and data quality assessments
• Mentorship or training experience
• Innovative, team-oriented, and passionate about delivering quality products
• Reside and have authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Skills and Qualifications :

• Experience with AWS, deploying AI/ML tools
• Experience with code reviews, paired programming, agile methods
• Experience with Visual Studio, copilot, LLM-assisted coding
• Experience with OCR and structured data from rasterized documents
