Responsibilities

Summary
The Data Scientist will use statistical methods and machine learning techniques to analyze and interpret complex data sets. This role involves developing models and algorithms to support datadriven decision-making and providing insights to improve business operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Data Scientist analyzes large, complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that can inform business strategies and decisions.
  • Develops, implements, and refines machine learning models to predict outcomes, automate processes, and generate insights.
  • The Data Scientist creates compelling visualizations and dashboards that effectively communicate data insights to stakeholders, aiding in strategic decision-making.
  • Works closely with data analysts, BI analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions.
  • The Data Scientist conducts research to stay abreast of new data science methodologies, tools, and technologies, integrating them into existing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensures data quality by performing data cleaning, transformation, and preprocessing tasks to prepare data for analysis.
  • The Data Scientist applies statistical techniques to validate findings, test hypotheses, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Regularly tests and validates the accuracy and performance of models, making necessary adjustments to improve their reliability.
  • The Data Scientist documents methodologies, processes, and findings in a clear and concise manner, ensuring transparency and reproducibility.
  • Mentors junior data scientists and analysts, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • United States citizenship required.
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in data science or a related role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Strong experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading junior team members is a plus.
