Internal Job Title: Data Scientist I or II

Reports To: Senior Data Scientist

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Part Time

Location: Remote

External Job Title: Data Scientist, Machine Learning | Part Time

Position Summary

The Data Scientist (ML), part-time role will work on training ML models using data pipelines, Extraction Transformation Loading (ETL) processes, and data integration. This role will also deliver excellent customer experience by working directly with clients and customers. The role requires a commitment of 20 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop machine learning models in various application areas, estimating performance gains and building cases for further development.
2. Build machine learning components for the Ever.Ag Data Science application platform.
3. Configure and deploy ML models in customer implementations.
4. Support pre-existing customer implementations.
5. Utilize statistical analysis to identify trends in customer and market data.
6. Collaborate on project data requirements, gather and validate information, and apply judgment and statistical tests to devise problem-solving actions.
7. Perform tests to ensure the accuracy of the models.
8. Work with existing tools and modeling techniques to solve problems. Collaborate with a team of professionals to deliver high-value SaaS products.
9. Report to customer leadership teams and assist with decision-making.
10. Potential travel to customer sites.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree, preferably master’s or Ph.D., in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related fields. PhD candidates are welcome.
• Typically, 2+ years’ experience in building machine learning or forecasting models for academic or enterprise applications.
• Experience with various modeling approaches and techniques.
• Experience manipulating large datasets for advanced analytics.
• Ability to design and build data pipelines iteratively.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, GitHub.
• Familiarity with coding and programming concepts.
• Collaborative, open, and respectful working style.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS is a plus.
