The role is Remote with 1-2 quarterly meetings per year.

Pay : $80-110 per hour

TOP REQUIREMENTS :

1. Experience working with large data sets, proficiency in SQL and Python.
2. Ability to produce data visualizations using Power BI or Tableau.
3. Understanding of Data Science from a modeling perspective, including scenario analysis and data modeling techniques.
4. Utility industry experience (though this may be unlikely).

Client laptops will be provided for candidates within the client's service territory.

Position Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist in Ops Support Data & Analytics to deliver strong execution and results in data science. The role involves translating business needs into advanced analytics and data models, selecting appropriate models and training data, building, training, and evaluating models, and delivering insights regularly.

Position Responsibilities :

• Develop high-complexity models and training datasets.
• Execute and implement data science models hands-on.
• Translate business analysis needs into well-defined data science problems, select suitable models, and communicate results and implications to stakeholders.
• Prioritize work to maximize operational impact of analytics.
• Balance tradeoffs among analytics value, modeling methods, and technologies with a bias toward action.
• Perform analysis on complex data models, generate reports, and present recommendations.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Econometrics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Required experience includes 8 years in related roles, or 6 years with a Master's Degree plus 3 years of relevant experience. At least 5 years in data modeling.

Desired Skills :

• Experience with Python, R, Scala, SQL.
• Experience with data science notebooks like Jupyter or Zeppelin.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Energy industry experience.
• Designing efficient data science workflows and database architectures.
• Experience with forecasting, Bayesian networks, and graph analytics.
