Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
• 2+ years of experience applying data science techniques in a business context.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with ML methods and tools.
• Experience with relational databases (Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Excellent communication to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Apply analytics, ML, and statistical methods to build predictive and prescriptive models, forecast, and run simulations.
• Lead small projects from conception to completion with multiple stakeholders.
• Develop data products including data requests and dashboards for the New England Electric Business.

What you’ll do

• Apply sophisticated analytics, machine learning, and statistical methods to build predictive and prescriptive models, support forecasting, and run simulations that address business problems.
• Lead small projects from conception to completion, partnering with multiple stakeholder teams to understand and meet analytic needs.
• Support the research, implementation, and delivery of data products for the New England Electric Business, including data requests and dashboards.
• Compile small and large datasets that satisfy internal requirements and align with the Electric Data Management (EDM) technology platform.
• Develop solutions that automate manual workflows and optimize how data and solutions are delivered to end users.

What you bring

• A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
• 2+ years of experience applying data science techniques in a business environment.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Strong working knowledge of machine learning methods and tools.
• Experience with relational databases such as Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Curiosity, collaboration, and motivation to learn.
• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• GIS programming knowledge or experience.
• Experience in the energy industry or another regulated environment.

Salary and logistics
