Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a motivated Scientist to join a new early oncology R&D team in Kendall Square/Cambridge. You will leverage data science to mine large datasets, support target ID, MOA studies, and biomarker strategy development with focus on immune aging/function analyses.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Epidemiology, or related field (0–2 years post-doc) or MS with 2–4 years; BS with 4+ years experience.
• 2+ years experience with large-scale biological/population datasets, preferably immune-aging studies.
• Strong Python or R proficiency.
• Solid grasp of statistics and basic ML techniques.
• Experience with RNA-seq, DNA methylation, ChIP-seq or ATAC-seq.
• Familiarity with proteomics data and multi-omics integration.
• Ability to present data workflows to a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze large-scale biobank and population datasets using established pipelines.
• Apply analytical methods and ML to identify potential targets and biomarkers.
• Collaborate with wet-lab scientists to analyze MOA studies.
• Generate high-quality visualizations and reports for the project team.
• Contribute computational insights for biomarker strategy development.
• Participate in team meetings and present data-driven insights.
• Stay current with data science and bioinformatics tools.
