Job summary

AstraZeneca seeks a Scientist, Bioscience Immunology to transform cutting-edge immunology into therapies. You will characterize immune pathways in health and disease, design and optimize assays, and generate translational data that inform program strategy.

You will work in state-of-the-art labs with leadership in summary data generation, contribute to strategy discussions, and publish impactful research while accelerating medicines to patients worldwide.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with 3+ years in industry, or PhD with post-doctoral experience.
  • Expertise in adaptive and innate immunity.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong hands-on skills in establishing immunological screening assays (e.g., flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD).
  • Strong written and oral communication and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience running collaborative efforts and utilizing external resources.

Responsibilities

  • Define and interrogate novel immunological pathways to drive target validation.
  • Design, execute and refine studies using primary cells and disease tissue-derived cells.
  • Build, optimize and qualify robust cellular, molecular, and protein assays; ensure data quality.
  • Apply rigorous experimental design and statistical thinking to analyze complex datasets and inform decisions.
  • Partner with project teams and external collaborators to align goals and accelerate progress.
  • Lead aspects of biology and publish high-quality research to advance the pipeline.
  • Navigate ambiguity and iterate quickly to keep programs moving.
