Job summary

Tapestry, a Google X spin-off, is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead a high-performing team of data scientists dedicated to improving electric grid visibility and resilience. You will mentor, hire, and coordinate across product and engineering to translate complex data into actionable strategy.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in a quantitative field; 8+ years in tech or energy as statistician, analyst, or data scientist.
• 5+ years managing or leading data science teams; proven production-grade data solutions.
• Proven track record influencing cross-functional teams to adopt data science.
• Advanced experimental design and robust A/B testing methodologies.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, R, Pandas, Scikit-Learn and ML frameworks.
• Experience with electric power grid data and physics-based understanding of networks.
• Experience with multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling methods.
• Building ML evaluation tooling and pipelines at scale.
• Ability to translate data science into business value; strong storytelling

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists.
• Translate business goals into rigorous data science roadmaps with cross-functional partners.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and external partners to drive data-driven decisions.
• Define metrics, datasets, and evaluation strategies for ML models.
• Oversee data integrity and curation strategies at scale.
• Standardize experimentation frameworks (A/B tests, propensity scoring, etc.).
• Drive data annotation strategies ensuring quality and reproducibility.
• Communicate findings and strategy to executives and stakeholders.
