Job summary

HDR Data Science Internship program invites students to gain real-world experience through a range of data science projects. You will perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and model development under supervision, while contributing to generative AI solutions and geospatial tooling.

You’ll collaborate with teams, use Snowflake and Azure AI, and participate in a culture that values inclusivity and employee ownership. This is a summer 2027 internship with full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Attention to detail a must.
• Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of your Department Manager, Section Manager or other professionals
• Contribute towards a variety of data science projects performing exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model development and training.
• Develop data and generative AI solutions including chatbots, geospatial, and geotechnical search facilities
• Work with a variety of open source and commercial software such as Snowflake, and Azure AI services

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Software Development, Computer or Data Science, Data Analytics, or related degree
• 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
