Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to gain real-world experience on diverse data science projects. You will work under supervision from department managers or professionals and contribute to feature engineering, model development, and AI solutions.

You will collaborate with a range of teams, benefit from mentoring programs, and gain exposure to tools like Snowflake and Azure AI services. Local candidates preferred with an enrollment in relevant programs.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• 3.0+ GPA preferred for continued eligibility.
• Pursuing a degree in software engineering, software development, computer or data science, data analytics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist on data science projects including exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model development and training.
• Develop data and generative AI solutions such as chatbots and geospatial tools.
• Collaborate with team members and mentors to gain real-world experience on projects.
• Utilize open source and commercial software like Snowflake and Azure AI services.
• Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and adapt to feedback.

In the role of a Data Scientist Intern, we'll count on you to:

• Offer real-world experience on exciting projects
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of your Department Manager, Section Manager or other professionals
• Contribute towards a variety of data science projects performing exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model development and training.
• Develop data and generative AI solutions including chatbots, geospatial, and geotechnical search facilities
• Work with a variety of open source and commercial software such as Snowflake, and Azure AI services

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Software Development, Computer or Data Science, Data Analytics, or related degree
• 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• local candidate preferred

Required Qualifications
