Job summary

HDR is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to contribute to real-world projects, learn under experienced mentors, and participate in a variety of data science tasks including EDA, feature engineering, and model development.

You will work with open source and commercial tools such as Snowflake and Azure AI services, gaining exposure to AI-driven solutions in a corporate, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  • 2 years completed toward degree with GPA 3.0+.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute towards data science projects including exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model development and training.
  • Develop data and generative AI solutions including chatbots, geospatial, and geotechnical search facilities.
  • Work under the supervision of the Department Manager, Section Manager or other professionals.
  • Offer real-world experience on exciting projects and connect with mentors and leaders.

In the role of a Data Scientist Intern, we'll count on you to:

  • Offer real-world experience on exciting projects
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of your Department Manager, Section Manager or other professionals
  • Contribute towards a variety of data science projects performing exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model development and training.
  • Develop data and generative AI solutions including chatbots, geospatial, and geotechnical search facilities
  • Work with a variety of open source and commercial software such as Snowflake, and Azure AI services
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Software Development, Computer or Data Science, Data Analytics, or related degree
  • 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
  • local candidate preferred
Required Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
