Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory offers summer internship opportunities for Data Science students to gain hands-on experience supporting the Navy's nuclear fleet. You will work with world-class engineers and scientists on real projects, developing models, performing data analysis, and contributing to software testing and system integration.

The 10–12 week program runs May/June 2027, with mentoring, site tours, and extensive networking.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Data Science, Computer Science, or related engineering or science BS, MS or PhD degrees from an accredited college or university
• Must have completed at least first full year of college by May 2027
• Enrolled/continuing in a degree program throughout this internship

Responsibilities

• Work directly with world-class engineers, scientists, researchers, and technicians on hands-on projects
• Develop models, perform data analysis, and assist with testing software, components or integrated systems
• Support operations and help develop process controls and procedures for the Navy's nuclear fleet
