Job summary

MS Transverse in New York, a hybrid fronting carrier within a global insurance group, is offering a Data Science internship for the upcoming summer in NYC. This hands-on program provides exposure to distribution, reinsurance, and management reporting, with mentorship and real-world deliverables.

You’ll work within Data Science while gaining visibility into other teams, building tools and reports, and presenting two case studies to leadership.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Research and document potential distribution and reinsurance partners.
• Analyze the distribution market to understand how partners fit into the space.
• Gain exposure to MST’s business plan and support business development strategy (as applicable).
• Build tools and reports to support business development and management reporting.
• Track and evaluate financial trends for weekly and monthly reporting.
• Support ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
• Assist with record retention and other duties as assigned.

For the upcoming summer, we’re looking for a Data Science intern to join us in NYC.

What You Can Expect

• End-to-End Business Exposure - Learn about our business model, client partnerships, and the inner workings of a hybrid fronting carrier. While your internship will be anchored within Data Science, being part of a smaller, fast-growing firm means you’ll have natural visibility into how other teams operate and collaborate. Day to day, you’ll:
  • Research and document potential distribution and reinsurance business partners
  • Analyze the distribution market to understand how partners fit into the space
  • Gain exposure to MST’s business plan and support business development strategy
  • Build tools and reports to support business development and management reporting
  • Track and evaluate financial trends for weekly and monthly reporting
  • Support ad hoc reports and analysis as needed

• Case Study Projects - You’ll complete two key deliverables: a group case study focused on a real-world business scenario, and a department-specific case study aligned with your assigned team. Each project concludes with a professional presentation and Q&A with firm leadership.
• Events & Engagement - Our interns participate in a variety of internal events—from firm-wide learning sessions to cross-functional coffee chats as well as external engagements that connect you to industry professionals, peer cohorts, and volunteer opportunities that give back to local communities.
