Job summary

MS Transverse, a subsidiary of MSIG USA and MS&AD Insurance Group, seeks an Asset Management intern for the NYC summer. The program offers hands-on experience at a hybrid fronting carrier with cross-team exposure to finance, partnerships, and business development.

You will work on real-world projects, develop tools and reports, and receive mentorship while gaining insight into the insurance industry and market dynamics in a global firm.

Qualifications

• Rising sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor's degree or a student pursuing a master's degree in Economics or Business Management
• Comfortable analyzing markets and companies
• Curious and eager to learn

• Interested in insurance or risk management
• Basic understanding of the insurance industry

Responsibilities

• Research and document potential distribution and reinsurance business partners
• Analyze the distribution market to understand how partners fit into the space
• Gain exposure to MST’s business plan and support business development strategy
• Build tools and reports to support business development and management reporting
• Track and evaluate financial trends for weekly and monthly reporting
• Support ad hoc reports and analysis as needed
• Assist with record retention and other duties as assigned

For the upcoming summer, we’re looking for an Asset Management intern to join us in NYC.

What You Can Expect

• End-to-End Business Exposure — Learn about our business model, client partnerships, and the inner workings of a hybrid fronting carrier. While your internship will be anchored within Asset Management, being part of a smaller, fast‑growing firm means you’ll have natural visibility into how other teams operate and collaborate. Day to day, you’ll:
  • Research and document potential distribution and reinsurance business partners
  • Analyze the distribution market to understand how partners fit into the space
  • Gain exposure to MST’s business plan and support business development strategy
  • Build tools and reports to support business development and management reporting
  • Track and evaluate financial trends for weekly and monthly reporting
  • Support ad hoc reports and analysis as needed
  • Assist with record retention and other duties as assigned
• Structured Onboarding & Ongoing Mentorship — We believe in starting strong. You’ll receive a tailored onboarding experience and ongoing access to supportive managers and mentors throughout your time here.
• Case Study Projects — You’ll complete two key deliverables: a group case study focused on a real‑world business scenario, and a department‑specific case study aligned with your assigned team. Each project concludes with a professional presentation and Q&A with firm leadership.
• Events & Engagement — Our interns participate in a variety of internal events—from firm‑wide learning sessions to cross‑functional coffee chats as well as external engagements that connect you to industry professionals, peer cohorts, and volunteer opportunities that give back to local communities.
