LCS in Des Moines, IA, offers a Data Science Internship for 12 weeks (May through August) at 40 hours per week. Interns gain hands-on experience on meaningful projects that impact the business and present outcomes to senior leadership.

The program provides broad exposure to the organization and its operations. Interns will build dashboards and models using SQL, Python, and Power BI, while collaborating with analytics teams and leaders across departments.

Responsibilities

• Help LCS continue to activate our analytics strategy by working on key business problems that deliver results and delight our residents.
• Gain hands on experience working with our cloud analytics platform to build a variety of analytical solutions such as dashboards, models, casual interference and more.
• Build technical skills using SQL, Python, and Power BI while also getting the opportunity to communicate your findings to internal business partners.
• Partner closely with other analytics roles such as data engineering, data science, data analysis, and data governance.
• Collaborate with leaders and team members across departments.
• Participate in professional development and networking opportunities.
• Present your project and summer experience to the senior leadership team at the conclusion of the internship.
• Gain a broad understanding of our industry and operations through mentorship, training, and shadowing opportunities.
