The role focuses on translating complex business questions into robust statistical models, defining KPIs, and delivering predictive insights that influence product development and operations.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Advanced programming skills in Python and modern C++, alongside proficiency in R, SQL, PySpark, Perl, bash, Java, or JavaScript.
• Proven ability to apply advanced statistical concepts (regression, distributions, hypothesis testing) and machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
• Experience deploying statistical and machine learning models in cloud environments using services like Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Forecast.
• Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting graphical analytics to clients and software teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with airline subject matter experts to turn operational and consumer data into actionable predictions that optimize customer behavior and business performance.
• Develop, test, and calibrate custom data models, forecasting techniques, and machine learning algorithms with benchmark demonstrations.
• Source data from multiple data sources and write high-quality data manipulation scripts in Python, R, and Bash.
• Collaborate with software engineers to write, test production-quality C++ and Python code for forecasting and data analytics tools.
• Establish monitoring processes to evaluate data accuracy and model performance, addressing improvements as needed.
