Data Science Business Analyst (100% Remote)

For more than 40 years, our Customer has been following science and seeking solutions to unmet medical needs. They are a biotechnology corporation that makes medicines to treat patients with serious medical conditions. Their goal is to use the power of genetic engineering and advanced technologies to make medicines that address unmet medical needs, and help millions of people worldwide.

We are seeking a Data Science Business Analyst on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.

A Data Science Business Analyst is a role combining the skills of a data scientist, business process management expertise, and project management capabilities, responsible for extracting actionable insights from data to optimize business processes, leading data-driven projects from conception to implementation while aligning with strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Modeling:

• Collect, clean, and prepare large datasets from diverse sources for analysis.
• Develop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics to identify trends and patterns.
• Utilize data visualization techniques to communicate findings to stakeholders effectively.
  
  

Business Process Optimization

• Analyze current business processes to identify areas for improvement through data-driven insights.
• Design and implement process improvements based on data analysis, including workflow optimization and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of data-driven solutions into existing processes.
  
  

Project Management

• Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables for data-driven initiatives.
• Manage project execution, track progress, and identify potential risks.
• Lead project teams through the data analysis lifecycle, ensuring timely and quality results.
  
  

Looking for a data-savvy business analyst who can optimize global business processes using data analysis, machine learning, and visualization tools like Tableau, while effectively managing stakeholders across international teams.

Skills And Qualifications

• Master's degree (preferred) in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field
• Expertise with data visualization tools and platforms (Tableau)
• Proven experience in data analysis, modeling, and visualization
• Knowledge of business process management methodologies
• Experience in project management, including leading cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
• Expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical methods, and data mining techniques
• Understanding of business operations, key performance indicators (KPIs), and OKRs, and strategic goals
• Ability to translate data insights into actionable business recommendations
• Expertise in Lean Six Sigma and agile ways of working
• Strong communication skills to effectively present findings to diverse stakeholders
• Proven experience in project planning, execution, and monitoring
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
