Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reporting Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with 5–10 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting, with a strong emphasis on Jira, JQL, and capacity planning. The ideal candidate will be proficient in extracting and analyzing Jira data to support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Report and Dashboard Development: Develop advanced JQL queries to extract and analyze Jira data for sprint tracking, velocity, throughput, and team performance; Build and maintain Jira dashboards that support capacity planning, resource allocation, and delivery forecasting; Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into clear, visual, and insightful reports.
• Data Integration and Modeling: Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate Jira and other business data sources into centralized reporting systems; Build and maintain robust data models that support scalable reporting and analytics; Create automated workflows and pipelines to streamline data updates and reduce manual effort.
• Data Analysis: Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational improvements; Perform ad hoc analysis and deliver actionable recommendations to business leaders; Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Support: Work closely with business users to gather reporting requirements, understand business goals, and deliver tailored solutions; Provide training and support to users on interpreting dashboards and using Jira data effectively; Assist stakeholders in interpreting and understanding data, answering questions, and troubleshooting issues with reports or dashboards.
• Performance and Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of Jira reports and dashboards; Optimize queries and data models to improve report performance, particularly as the scale of the data grows; Identify opportunities to streamline data sources and automate processes to reduce manual intervention; Stay up to date with the latest features and best practices in Jira, JQL and data visualization; Contribute to the ongoing improvement of data reporting processes and tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: 5-10 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence, with hands-on experience in building and maintaining reports and dashboards using Tableau and Power BI. (These are Nice to Have's)

Tools & Technologies:

• Expert-level proficiency in JQL and Jira dashboard configuration.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake).
• Data Analysis & Visualization: Strong ability to analyze large datasets and create meaningful, visually appealing reports and dashboards that help drive business decisions.
• Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to troubleshoot complex reporting issues and offer effective solutions.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business needs into data-driven insights.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in report creation and data interpretation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of Python, R, or other statistical programming languages.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Tableau)
