Overview

Title: Senior Reporting Analyst

Industry: Entertainment

Duration: 8+ month contract

Location: 100% Remote, EST Hours

Base pay range: $45.00/hr - $52.50/hr

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Reporting Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting using Tableau and Power BI. As a Senior Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining complex reports and dashboards that help stakeholders across the organization make data-driven decisions, especially as it pertains to Jira.

Responsibilities

• Report and Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau and Power BI, providing actionable insights to business stakeholders.
• Data Integration and Modeling: Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure smooth integration of data sources into Tableau and Power BI; build and maintain data models; create data pipelines and automated workflows to refresh reports.
• Data Analysis: Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement; perform ad hoc analysis and provide actionable recommendations; use statistical methods to interpret data and present findings to non-technical audiences.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Support: Work with business users to gather reporting requirements, understand goals, and create customized reporting solutions; provide training and support on Tableau/Power BI dashboards; assist stakeholders in interpreting data and troubleshooting issues.
• Performance and Optimization: Monitor performance of Tableau and Power BI reports; optimize queries and data models to improve speed; identify opportunities to streamline data sources and automate processes.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with Tableau and Power BI features and best practices; contribute to ongoing improvement of data reporting processes; lead or participate in knowledge-sharing and mentorship for junior analysts.

Basic Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence; hands-on experience building and maintaining Tableau and Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Tools & Technologies:
  • Expert-level proficiency in Tableau and/or Power BI (Desktop and Server/Online).
  • Experience with SQL for querying databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with Jira.
• Data Analysis & Visualization: Ability to analyze large datasets and create meaningful, visually appealing reports and dashboards.
• Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to troubleshoot complex reporting issues and offer effective solutions.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business needs into data-driven insights.
• Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in report creation and data interpretation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of Python, R, or other statistical programming languages.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and deliver solutions.
• Experience with Jira and JQL.
