Job summary

Yulista Holding LLC is seeking engineers to support range control systems and data processing for launch operations. You will work with legacy Linux/Windows XP environments, troubleshoot hardware/software, and interpret FORTRAN code, while traveling for mission support.

You will contribute to maintenance of data processing software, perform health checks, and manage platform builds (RADAC) with automated OS installations and RAID imaging. Security clearances may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: 4-year degree in computer science, software development or related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to three months per year for launch operations.
  • Interpreting and troubleshooting software code in legacy languages including FORTRAN.
  • Operate, install, maintain, repair, overhauling, troubleshooting and testing of fixed/electronic command and control equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer networking between legacy operating systems.
  • Maintain a central software repository for data processing.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and health checks on Data Quality Mission computer systems.
  • Work from engineering drawings and specifications and have thorough knowledge of instrumentation systems.
  • Process DMSP data and generate mission tracking data.
  • Manage system builds/upgrades for platforms (e.g., RADAC), including RAID imaging, OS automation and hardware drivers.

Position Requirements

This position requires providing skilled support in the performance of duties in the Range Control Center and Mobile Range Control Systems which include the following:

  • Knowledge of legacy Linux and Windows XP operating systems.
  • Willingness to travel up to three months a year in support of launch operations at various locations including Alaska.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PC systems hardware, software and operating systems including replacing components.
  • Interpreting and troubleshooting software code in multiple legacy languages including FORTRAN (any programming skills are a plus.)
  • Work on various types of fixed and electronic command and control equipment and related devices by performing one or a combination of the following: operating, installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction and testing.
  • Apply a technical knowledge of electronic hardware and software principles to determine malfunctions and to put the equipment in required operating condition. Knowledge of computer networking between legacy operating systems.
  • Maintain a central software repository for data processing.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and health checks on Data Quality Mission computer systems.
  • Work from engineering drawings and specifications and utilize a thorough knowledge of the operating characteristics and circuit design of the various electronic and computerized instrumentation systems.
  • Process DMSP (Defense Meteorological Satellite Program) data from all received data sources (tracking sites) and process all tracking data for launches.
  • Generate each mission’s Parallax Look Angles and INPs for tracking assets.
  • Ability to work outside of normal shift schedule to support range launch activities.

The candidate may be required to receive and continue to maintain a secret clearance as required. Candidate will be working on console in the control center(s) during launch activities. Safety and quality awareness and compliance are required. Shift work and travel up to 10% or more may be required.
