Job Summary




The Data Quality Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring that data across the organization is accurate, consistent, and reliable. This role involves designing and implementing innovative processes, systems, and strategies to assess, enhance, and maintain high-quality data. They will work closely with data governance specialists, data analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data is clean, complete, and ready for strategic decision-making.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    Data Quality Assessment: Regularly assess the quality of data by checking for errors, inconsistencies, duplicates, and missing information. Implement and execute validation checks to ensure data is accurate in source systems and meets business requirements. Perform root cause analysis for data quality issues and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  1. Data Cleansing: Work with business units to clean and standardize data, ensuring it meets internal data governance standards. Ensure systems of record are accurate, consistent, and free of errors through systematic processes, including removing duplicates, correcting data entry mistakes, and standardizing formatting. Use scripts and/or Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools whenever possible to automate repetitive data cleansing tasks, enhancing the speed, accuracy, and scalability of data management.
  2. Process Improvement: Partner with and evaluate existing business processes and systems, recommending improvements and optimizations to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  3. Reporting: Generate detailed reports on data quality issues and communicate findings to stakeholders across various departments. Continuously monitor data flows and data pipelines to identify issues in real time and resolve them swiftly. Create and maintain automated systems for data validation and monitoring to minimize manual intervention.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, and data engineers to ensure that data meets project specifications and business needs.
  5. Policies & Regulations: Enforce data governance policies and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory data requirements. Assist business units in understanding data governance and make recommendations to improve organization-wide data quality and consistency.
  6. Documentation: Document data quality processes, procedures, and standards for ongoing reference and improvement. Define and promote effective documentation best practices internally and externally.
  7. Security / Compliance: Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. Maintain a working knowledge of security threats, laws, and policy for data privacy and protection; take steps to protect organizational data from accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure. Adhere to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and OFAC regulations.
  8. Team Player: Commit to a collaborative mindset and perform other duties as assigned in support of the team.

Qualifications




Education/Skills/Training:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • High proficiency with data quality tools and software (e.g., Purview, Talend, Atlan, CastorDoc).
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing large datasets.
  • Knowledge of system development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
  • Familiarity with data management principles, & data governance practices.
  • Experience with data cleansing and normalization techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of RPA tools (e.g., Automation Anywhere, Power Automate).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and data management best practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data quality policies and procedures.

Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data quality management, data analysis, or related fields.
  • Experience working with databases, data analysis, and data validation techniques.
  • Prior experience with data quality tools and software (e.g., data profiling, data cleansing).
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of computer systems and appropriate software applications, including strong technical aptitude and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the finance/banking industry with knowledge of related data standards and regulations.
  • Experience in automating data quality tasks and improving data management processes.
