Next Level Technician in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Data Project Manager to lead data and structured cabling projects from kickoff to completion. The role demands organization, reliability, and strong coordination of technicians and schedules.

You will manage client communications, review drawings and specs, track progress and safety, and travel for projects outside the San Antonio area as needed. Company offers equipment, a gas card, and a $500/month vehicle allowance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
• Strong background in structured cabling or data networks.
• Ability to read and understand project drawings and specs.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel for projects outside San Antonio.
• Live in the San Antonio, TX area and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage data and structured cabling projects from kickoff through completion.
• Coordinate field technicians, crews, schedules, materials, and daily project activities.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, technicians, and management.
• Review project scopes, drawings, specifications, and installation requirements.
• Track progress, productivity, quality, labor, and timelines.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and guide field teams.
• Troubleshoot field issues and coordinate solutions.
• Communicate updates and expectations clearly with customers.
• Ensure projects are completed safely and per customer specifications.
• Maintain documentation and communicate changes to management.
• Travel to projects outside the San Antonio area as needed.

This position is ideal for an experienced Data/Structured Cabling Project Manager who is organized, dependable, professional, and confident coordinating technicians and managing commercial data cabling projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Manage data and structured cabling projects from kickoff through completion
• Coordinate field technicians, crews, schedules, materials, and daily project activities
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, technicians, and internal management
• Review project scopes, drawings, specifications, and installation requirements
• Track project progress, productivity, quality, labor, and completion timelines
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and provide direction to field teams
• Troubleshoot field issues and coordinate solutions when challenges arise
• Communicate project updates, schedules, and expectations clearly with customers and stakeholders
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to customer specifications
• Help coordinate material procurement, equipment, and jobsite needs
• Maintain accurate project documentation and communicate changes or issues to management
• Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining strong customer relationships
• Support projects throughout San Antonio and surrounding markets
• Travel outside the San Antonio area as needed for projects

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of project management experience
• Strong background in structured cabling, data/network infrastructure, or related low voltage systems
• Experience coordinating technicians, crews, schedules, materials, and project activities
• Ability to read and understand project drawings, scopes, and specifications
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
• Professional, dependable, hardworking, and motivated attitude
• Comfortable conducting site visits and directing field technicians
• Must be willing to travel when projects are located outside of the San Antonio area
• Must live in the San Antonio, TX area
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn project management software
• Fiber optic experience is a plus
• Security systems/access control experience is a plus
• OSHA, BICSI, manufacturer certifications, or other industry certifications are a plus
