Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders (Domain Lead(Ops, IT, Data leads)) to understand business needs and shape the vision and roadmap for data-driven initiatives aligned with strategic priorities.
- Contribute to the development of the program vision and communicate product and portfolio vision to the team.
- Work with data scientists, engineers, and designers to ensure products are built efficiently, meet user needs, and provide actionable insights.
- Analyze data sources, technologies, and vendors providing data services; create ER diagrams, data models, PRD/BRD to convey requirements.
- Develop and achieve product KPIs; manage data products with strategic scope and complexity.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security by establishing governance frameworks, data quality standards, and best practices.
- Align system/application integrations with business goals; resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain and prioritize the product backlog with clear user stories.
- Participate in quarterly planning and set expectations with stakeholders for new capabilities and features.
- Support agile ceremonies, monitor product health, and balance costs with outcomes.
- Analyze feasibility, costs, and implications of product changes.
- Understand and prioritize according to regulatory and industry constraints; negotiate with teams to align priorities.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years' experience in the Insurance industry, preferably with an actuarial background.
- Experience with product/platform development across pricing/underwriting lifecycle.
- Familiarity with data technologies and programming languages (Python/R/SQL/SAS) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Proven experience as a Data Product Owner or similar role in data or software development.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, Trello, or Asana.
- Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Experience with UX/UI principles, SDLC, and software engineering concepts is a plus.
