Job summary

Clicklease is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to own and operate our on-prem/AWS hosted databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake) powering our lending platform. You’ll work with the DBA, Data Engineers, and DevOps to keep production databases fast, secure, and reliable.

You will drive backups, migrations, and automation of deployments, while advancing IaC and monitoring. This fintech environment emphasizes high availability, disaster recovery, and scalable data operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years administering SQL Server or PostgreSQL in production.
• High availability, disaster recovery, and backup/restore, including failover replicas.
• Running self-hosted databases on AWS EC2 and Linux, in partnership with DevOps.
• Performance tuning and query optimization, plus strong SQL skills, including stored procedures.

Responsibilities

• Keep production databases stable with failover, replication, and disaster-recovery plans.
• Own backup and recovery strategy and automate restores and failover tests.
• Refresh non-production environments safely from production data.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune performance (queries, indexes, configs).
• Partner with engineers on schema design and data processing efficiency.
• Build and maintain monitoring, dashboards, and alerting; participate in on-call rotation.
• Automate database deployments and CI/CD pipelines; apply IaC practices.
