ELLKAY seeks a hands-on Data Platform Lead to provide day-to-day technical leadership for the design, implementation, and operation of ELLKAY’s Data Platform and Data Lake. Translate platform strategy into working architecture, reusable engineering patterns, production services, and clearly executable team plans.

This role collaborates with Architecture, Product, Security, Compliance, DevOps/SRE, Analytics, and application teams to drive data ingestion, transformation, and data-serving

Qualifications

• Leadership of data platform design and implementation
• Experience with ingestion, transformation, storage, and data serving

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and implementation of ingestion, transformation, storage, orchestration, and data-serving capabilities.
• Define reusable patterns for batch, streaming, API, and file-based healthcare data ingestion.
• Establish standards for schemas, data contracts, metadata, lineage, data quality, access control, testing, deployment, and observability.
• Lead design and code reviews and guide engineers through complex technical decisions.
• Break platform initiatives into executable work and coordinate delivery across engineering teams.
• Improve performance, scalability, resiliency, security, and cloud-cost efficiency.
• Create automated deployment, testing, monitoring, alerting, and recovery processes.
• Mentor engineers and reduce reliance on undocumented knowledge or individual contributors.
• Partner with Architecture, Product, Security, Compliance, DevOps/SRE, Analytics, and application teams.
• Participate in production support, incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
