Job summary

Veracyte is seeking a Senior Manager of Data Engineering to lead a team responsible for building and operating enterprise data platforms. You will guide architecture, production operations, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver secure, scalable data solutions for clinical, operational, and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering/DS.
• 8+ years of data engineering/software data platforms experience.
• 5+ years of people-management experience and leading teams.
• Proven ability to design, build, operate production data pipelines and lakehouse architectures.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage data engineering team, hiring, coaching, performance management.
• Guide architecture and code quality, design reviews, production operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
• Ensure data platform standards, governance, security, privacy controls.
• Drive platform delivery, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and advocate for adoption.
