Job summary

SimplePractice is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to evolve our data stack—from pipelines to platform. You’ll build the infrastructure powering product intelligence, financial reporting, and self-serve analytics for clinicians in private practice.

You’ll collaborate with Data Analytics, ML, Product, and Engineering to deliver scalable, reliable systems that make data a first-class product at SimplePractice, supporting executive reporting and revenue forecasting.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Engineering, CS, Math or related field.
• 7+ years in Data or Analytics Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with data warehouse design (Snowflake).
• Hands-on with DBT for modular transformations.
• Experience with orchestration/ingestion tools: Airflow, Prefect, Airbyte, Fivetran, Kafka.
• AWS experience (S3, RDS, Redshift, etc.).
• BI tools like Looker/Tableau/Sisense.
• Python and Unix/Linux scripting.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product, Analytics and Engineering to build scalable data systems.
• Lead technical vision and architecture for short and long term horizons.
• Standardize metrics across the company for alignment.
• Support internal use cases like financial reporting and product analytics.
• Enable external use cases like dashboards and self-serve analytics.
• Manage the complete data stack from ingestion through consumption.
• Build tools to increase transparency in reporting company-wide outcomes.
• Collaborate with DevOps to deploy data solutions in AWS.
• Define data quality and security framework across the enterprise.
