Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years leading teams or projects.
• Experience building internal platforms or developer tools in data‑intense environments.
• Strong grasp of data infra: Airflow, Dagster, BigQuery or Snowflake, Kafka, SQLMesh.
• Proficiency with AWS or GCP, containers, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional workstreams and translate user needs into platform capabilities.
• Product mindset focused on solving real user problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Platform team in designing, building, and maintaining core infrastructure and tooling.
• Partner with the Principal Engineer to define the team’s technical roadmap and architecture.
• Collaborate with data science, analytics, product, and engineering teams to shape platform features.
• Ensure high reliability, scalability, and observability of the data platform, including governance.
• Establish and enforce best practices for data engineering and platform development.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership: engage in design reviews and contribute code as needed.
• Hire, coach, and develop engineers, fostering ownership and continuous improvement.
• Manage communication around the platform roadmap and priorities to stakeholders.
