Abnormal AI is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Data Platform team. You will design, build, and operate core data systems and tooling that empower engineering and data science to move fast with reliable, scalable infrastructure.

You will learn from experienced engineers, tackle meaningful technical challenges, and contribute to cutting-edge GenAI-driven developer experiences while growing your skills in a fast-growing, AI-first company.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python or Go.
• Strong fundamentals: data structures, clean code, testing, and debugging.
• Interest in AWS, Databricks, and our stack (databases, streaming, orchestration).
• Curiosity, problem-solving, and willingness to ask questions.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and operation of core components of Abnormal’s data platform.
• Build tools and services to help other teams adopt and scale data systems.
• Automate infrastructure and operations to improve reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Apply GenAI techniques to build smarter developer and operator experiences.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to solve scalability and reliability challenges.
• Take ownership of projects, delivering features end-to-end with guidance from senior engineers.
