Job summary

Hazel is seeking a data platform engineer to own ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and reliability of Hazel’s data layer for consumer brands. You’ll also advance our AI agents that write, build, and test new integrations end-to-end, with automation being central to scale.

You’ll work in NYC hybrid, collaborating with a small, high-ownership team, shipping multi-tenant data solutions and pushing the boundaries of real-time data availability.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building production data infrastructure with ownership of a data warehouse
• Strong expertise in dbt and SQL; able to discuss grain, incrementality, and data modeling
• Proficient Python for building ingestion layers and data transformations
• Experience owning an orchestration layer in production (Dagster, Airflow, Temporal, Prefect)
• Experience with AI-enabled automation and building data integrations end-to-end
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Own data platform end-to-end: ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and reliability
• Develop and scale AI agents that write, build, and test integrations
• Automate data integrations and transformations to enable scaling
