Job summary

GMO is seeking an experienced Data Platform Analyst to join the Data Engineering and Operations team in the Technology group in Boston. The role focuses on evolving GMO’s security master and portfolio data platforms, leveraging NeoXam DataHub, and collaborating with Operations and Investment teams to translate operational insight into scalable workflow and data quality improvements.

The position is hybrid with a minimum of two days in the office per week, with the balance remote or in the

Qualifications

• 10+ years of investment industry experience with reference or research data
• Expertise in portfolio and security master data structures and lifecycles
• Hands-on experience with NeoXam DataHub (mandatory)
• Strong Python and SQL skills; able to work with large datasets
• Experience supporting or leading security master conversions/migrations
• Interest in applying AI tools to evolving business needs
• High energy, conscientious, self-directed with strong work ethic
• Rotational on-call availability for night logging
• Curiosity about investment data
• Attention to data quality and controls
• Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and written communication skills
• Familiarity with BlackRock Aladdin
• Familiarity with Bloomberg/LSEG/ICE data providers

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of GMO’s reference data flow across internal databases and vendor apps (BlackRock Aladdin, NeoXam DataHub)
• Serve as NeoXam DataHub SME: validate portfolio master data and ensure scalable integration
• Identify recurring issues and translate findings into workflow, control, automation, and data quality improvements
• Analyze data using Python, SQL, and Excel to propose quality improvements
• Support governance and transformation activities for portfolio, security master, and reference data across platforms
• Automate processes and create control reports or daily checklists
• Create requirements for onboarding new datasets and collaborate with developers
• Explore AI tools to enhance reference data operations and monitoring
• Evolve from manual maintenance to data quality SLAs and downstream consumption patterns
• Partner with data engineering and stakeholders to modernize quality rules
