Washington Youth Alliance in Seattle seeks a Data Operations Intern to help ensure our donor and member records are accurate. You will clean and standardize data, support imports, and document processes so the team can work efficiently.

This entry-level role offers hands-on training, in-person routine, and exposure to CRM concepts while supporting fundraising and communications teams. The position is based in Seattle, requires residency in Washington, and starts Oct 5 with a December end date,

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and genuine patience for careful, repetitive work.
• Comfort working in spreadsheets, and interest in learning a CRM or database (no prior experience with a specific platform required).
• Sound judgment and discretion handling confidential member, donor, and financial information.
• Clear, non AI generated writing, particularly for documentation other people will have to follow.

Responsibilities

• Audit existing records across fundraising databases to find and resolve duplicates, incomplete entries, outdated contact information, and inconsistent formatting
• Standardize how names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, are recorded, and apply those standards consistently
• Enter data in CRM including but not limited to staff’s interactions with donors and donor’s responses
• Run regular check-ups on data quality and flag patterns that point to a problem upstream in how information is being collected
• Maintain appropriate separation of records across our 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and State PAC entities, following the guidance you receive from staff
• Reconcile records between systems (spreadsheets, CRM, email tools, forms) so the same person isn't three different people to us
• Pull lists, segments, and simple reports for organizing, communications, and fundraising staff
• Build and maintain lightweight dashboards or trackers that show membership, chapter growth, and engagement over time
• Write and update plain-language documentation for how our systems work: naming conventions, entry procedures, and step-by-step guides
• Suggest improvements to intake forms and collection processes that reduce cleanup work later
