Job summary

The Eliassen Group is seeking a Tier III Network Operations Engineer to troubleshoot and resolve complex WAN, LAN, routing, switching, and wireless issues in a hybrid on-site role in Charlotte, NC.

You will work with small Agile teams, focus on break-fix and operational reliability, and contribute to network improvement initiatives. Requires strong TCP/IP, Cisco routing/switching, VLANs, MPLS, SD-WAN, and familiarity with automation and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with two years of related experience, or equivalent experience.
• CCNA/CCNP/Network+ certifications desired.
• Proficient in Cisco IOS, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
• Experience with VLANs, MPLS, SD-WAN, ACI, ISE.

Responsibilities

• Support internal data networks and improve reliability.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN and wireless performance issues.
• Analyze appliances like firewalls and WAN accelerators.
• Provide timely resolution to trouble tickets.
• Participate in on-call rotation and cross-tier collaboration.

Hybrid 3 days on-site in Charlotte, NC

Our client seeks a Tier III Network Operations Engineer to troubleshoot and resolve complex WAN, LAN, routing, switching, and wireless issues. The role focuses on break-fix support and operational reliability of enterprise network solutions. It requires strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless, basic datacenter and network security concepts, and familiarity with automation and monitoring. The engineer will operate with minimal supervision and collaborate within small teams using Agile principles.

Rate: $90000.00 to $110000.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

• Support internal data networks with focus on improving reliability.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN and wireless network performance issues.
• Perform troubleshooting and analysis of appliances such as firewalls and WAN accelerators.
• Provide timely resolution to trouble tickets.
• Contribute to and participate in network improvement initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotation duties.
• Collaborate across all tiers of the operations organization.

Experience Requirements

• Proficiency with Cisco Systems, TCP/IP, routing, switching, LAN, and WAN.
• Prior Tier 2 or Tier 3 network operations support experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex routing and switching issues.
• Knowledge of VLANs, Ethernet, MPLS, ACI, ISE, and SD-WAN.
• Experience with ACI fabric configuration and troubleshooting, including spine and leaf switches, APICs, and tenant configurations.
• Familiarity with wireless standards, wireless security protocols, and wireless network configuration and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and tools such as ThousandEyes, LiveAction, SolarWinds, and Wireshark.
• Experience performing Cisco IOS updates and general network maintenance.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to resolve connectivity and performance issues.
• Continuous learning mindset and familiarity with automation and monitoring concepts.Good written and oral communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision and to prioritize activities based on priority.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and two years of related work experience, or High School/GED and six years of related work experience.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Network+ are desired.
