We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Specialist for a 12-month contract opportunity to assist in a large-scale data migration project. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in migrating enterprise-level data from Oracle Data Warehouses to Snowflake.
This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates located on the East Coast due to collaboration across time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate data migration projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
• Manage vendor relationships and engage with senior stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Develop and execute migration strategies, including planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Provide leadership to the migration team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Understand and manage infrastructure requirements and dependencies throughout the migration process.
• Leverage expertise in AWS, Snowflake, and other relevant technologies to ensure seamless data transitions.
• Oversee the migration of legacy systems to modern platforms, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data migration roles.
• Proven experience with Oracle Data Warehousing systems and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake cloud data platform.
• Strong proficiency in ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, dbt, or custom pipelines).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance.
• Experience in handling large-scale datasets (billions of rows, terabytes of data).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with scripting languages for data processing.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Certification in Snowflake or Oracle technologies is a plus.
