Job summary

Neon One, a nonprofit software leader, is seeking a Data Migration Consultant to manage the data migration process for new CRM customers, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout onboarding.

You will analyze source Excel data, prepare complex data import rules for software engineers, perform validation checks, and document maps, transformation logic, and issues for stakeholders and development teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a full portfolio of new CRM clients during onboarding as data contact.
• Conduct data imports by preparing complex data import rules for software engineers.
• Perform data validation checks, including pre‑migration audits and post‑migration reconciliation.
• Examine source Excel data to identify structure, quality, and issues such as inconsistencies or missing values.
• Document migration processes, maps, transformation logic, and issues; communicate with stakeholders and dev teams.
• Address and resolve data import errors or discrepancies during or after migration.
• Manage projects by keeping Rocketlane, ZenDesk, JIRA, Salesforce, and other systems up to date.
• Collaborate with Sales, Onboarding, Support to ensure alignment on client strategy and migration lifecycle.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Data Migration Consultant will be responsible for managing the data migration process for new CRM customers, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout the onboarding. This role involves comprehensive data analysis, meticulous validation, and effective communication with key internal and external stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a full portfolio of new CRM clients, serving as their data point of contact throughout onboarding.
• Conduct data imports by preparing complex data import rules for software engineers.
• Perform data validation checks throughout the process to ensure data integrity and accuracy, including pre-migration audits and post-migration reconciliation.
• Examine source Excel data to identify its structure, quality, and potential issues like inconsistencies, missing values, or non-standard entries.
• Document the entire migration process, including data maps, transformation logic, and any issues encountered, and communicate with business stakeholders and development teams to ensure all requirements are met.
• Address and resolve any issues that arise during or after the migration, such as data import errors or data discrepancies.
• Manage all projects efficiently by keeping relevant internal systems accurate and up to date, including recording progress in Rocketlane, ZenDesk, JIRA, Salesforce, and other company systems.
• Collaborate effectively with internal cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Onboarding, Support) to ensure alignment on client strategy, project status, and a cohesive, unified service experience throughout the migration lifecycle.

MUST HAVES

• Advanced Excel and Google Sheet skills, including knowledge of common functions.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• A history of delivering exceptional customer service.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify problems and develop creative solutions.
• Highly-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience in the nonprofit industry preferred.
• Experience working in a SaaS environment preferred.
